Room Host Volunteer Information (this is for the General Conference only)
If you are new to our system and do not have a login and password, you will need to add yourself and enter your address & email. Do not leave your addresses blank or we will not be able to send your information to you. Please be sure to register yourself as an individual, no group registration permitted.
Thank you for joining us in Long Beach, CA for our 72nd Annual CPRS Conference & Expo! This is the registration area for Room Host volunteers. Registering as a Room Host or Floor Captain (if available) serves as your Conference registration for the day you are assigned. Your contributions as a volunteer lead to the success of the educational sessions, as well as the overall success of the conference.
The Room Host’s job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: introducing the speaker and session, distributing and collecting evaluations, taking attendance, and completing CEU forms. Floor Captains support Room Hosts by adding an additional layer of assistance while sessions are in progress.
The Room Host position dates are March 11 - 13 at the Long Beach Convention Center. If you want to purchase an activity scheduled other than the day you are room hosting you may do so online until February 20, 2020. Purchases must be completed at the conference after February 20, 2020. Want to purchase event tickets? You can register online once your room host registrations is complete. Room host assignments are on a first come, first served basis. We also have a maximum capacity for Room Hosts, so register early! We are sorry, but we cannot guarantee that you will receive your priority shift or preferred educational session. Volunteers are responsible for travel, parking and lodging costs. Volunteer assignment confirmations will be emailed to you in late February.

Badge and Tickets
Your badge and tickets will be provided when you check-in for your first shift at the Speaker Assistance Center. Tickets are required for meals and/or special events and cannot be replaced if lost.
After you confirm your preferred room host choices, you will notice lunch tickets for Wednesday or Thursday at check out. These are for you to use in our Expo Hall during your break from room hosting. You are not expected to work as a room host for lunch.

ADA & Special Request Information
For ADA requests and questions concerning accessibility, contact CPRS at 916-665-2777. Accommodations such as interpreters cannot be guaranteed without at least 30 days notice. To help ensure availability, requests must be received by January 31, 2020.
Food Allergies & Preferences:
While we do our best to be aware of food allergies and preferences, it is not always possible for us to accommodate food allergies and preferences at our receptions and lunches in the exhibit hall due to the large number of people being served. If you have specific needs, you may need to provide your own meals during those times. If you have any questions about provided meals, please contact our office.
Room host shifts come in half-day blocks for Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. You will be asked to choose a specific day and a specific block of time. Intensives and Institutes do not use volunteer room hosts. Room Host Training
Training will occur prior to your first shift. Please check-in, pick up your name badge and session assignment (s) and prepare for training. Training is approximately 30 minutes after which you will move to the session you have been assigned. Once the session is complete, including the collection of evaluation forms and recording of continuing education units on attendee forms, you will bring the session information back to the Speaker Assistance Center to check out.
Once you click Register Myself, you will see that we have some required and optional questions below. When you have answered the questions, please be sure to click the Save Responses button. This will ensure that your transaction successfully goes to the online cart when you complete your registration.
